We keep an eye out for problems like gum disease, cavities and oral cancer. During the exam our dentist will: 1. Determine whether your oral hygiene is affecting your general health. 2. Determine your vulnerability to gum/bone disease, tooth decay, and root decay 3. Look for problems with your bite and jaw. 4. As required, take dental X-rays or engage in other diagnostic procedures.
  • Dental Cleaning & Scaling
Regular dental cleanings are essential for preventing serious oral problems and spotting issues early. These thorough cleaning sessions aim to get rid of tartar and plaque deposits that have accumulated on teeth over time. Bacteria-filled sticky film is called plaque. This film can rot your teeth and lead to gum disease if it is not routinely removed by brushing and flossing. Book an appointment every 4-6 months depending on your gum health and plaque build-up.
  • Pits and Fissure Sealants
Pit and fissure sealants, also referred to as dental sealants, are a reliable method of preventing tooth decay. This chronic condition develops as a result of a mild acid eating away at the enamel on your teeth. Enamel is the name of that outer layer. And the bacteria in our mouths combine with the sugars in the foods we eat to create these dangerous acids. A cavity will eventually develop if untreated. As the decay penetrates the tooth structure, a hole begins to form in your tooth. Dentistry in Milton, Dental sealants are unquestionably something to think about if you're concerned about long-term decay. In Children, the moment the first permanent teeth break through, the protective coating should be applied. Typically, this happens between the ages of 6 and 7.

  • Invisalign®
Invisalign® is a custom-made teeth aligner. Aligners are changed every two weeks for a period of six to 18 months, depending on the severity of the misalignment. When Invisalign is worn regularly, this high-quality dental device has the ability to shift your teeth into proper position. Created from a computer-generated mold. Milton Dentistry uses special technology to take an impression of the patient’s teeth. This impression is then sent to production.
  • Porcelain Veneers
Veneers are thin shells that are attached to the front portion of the teeth. They’re usually made of porcelain or composite resin. but we stick with porcelain because they tend to last much longer. These cosmetic devices are generally applied to the front six teeth where they’re most visible. Porcelain veneers, however, are very versatile in that they can also be used on the lower teeth and premolars.
  • Root Canal Therapy
The tooth's supply of blood and nerves is called dental pulp. It has all the blood vessels and connective tissue necessary to maintain the tooth's health. The pulp of the tooth will become infected when it becomes inflamed. The procedure of removing damaged pulp is known as root canal therapy, also referred to as endodontics. For a variety of reasons, dental pulp can become irritated, inflamed, or infected. Deep-seated decay and facial trauma are just a couple of them. This infection can spread if it is not treated, leading to excruciating pain and dental disease. Dentistry in Milton steps in a root canal surgery X-rays are used to examine the root's structure and check for bone infection in the vicinity. The region surrounding the tooth is numbed with local anaesthesia. To prevent saliva during treatment, a rubber dam is placed around the tooth. To access the pulp and decayed nerve tissue, a hole is drilled through the tooth. To clean and shape the root canal walls, thin files are inserted into the access hole. To ensure that the canals are clean and shaped to the apex, a radiograph is taken. Once everything is confirmed, the canals are thoroughly cleaned before being sealed and filled with 'gutta percha,' a paste and rubber compound.
  • Crowns
A damaged or broken tooth is "capped" with a crown. It can enhance the look, shape, or alignment of teeth and is frequently used for aesthetic reasons. A crown also provides flexibility because it can be positioned even on top of an implant that already exists, improving function. Typically, porcelain or ceramic is used to create this prosthetic device. Dentistry Milton makes every effort to match the colour of the crown to that of your natural teeth. Gold or acrylic can also be used on occasion. These materials are frequently used for back teeth because they are typically stronger.
  • Bridges
Dentistry Milton often recommend a bridge if one or more teeth are missing. Many patients aren’t bothered by missing teeth. But if the resulting gaps aren’t filled, the remaining teeth can shift into the empty spaces over time. This could end up causing chewing problems and a bad bite. A severe imbalance can also lead to gum disease and jaw dysfunction.
  • Partial or Full Dentures
Before beginning treatment, your mouth will be thoroughly examined. Your teeth will be captured in impressions by our dental team, which will be used to create your personalised dentures. These removable devices, a more affordable option to cosmetic dentistry, can increase your confidence and enhance your quality of life in general. Partials consist of 1 or more artificial teeth attached by gum coloured plastic base. Full Dentures or 'false teeth' are held in place by suction and is ideal when all your teeth are missing.
  • Dental Implants

You can be sure that all extractions are carried out in a safe and comfortable setting at Dentistry in Milton. Together, our skilled dentists and dental hygienists look out for your best interests. Some reasons for extraction Wisdom Teeth Periodontal (Gum) Disease Infection Risk of Infection
  • Wisdom Teeth
Our team may suggest that you have your wisdom teeth removed during a dental exam. The third set of teeth in the back of the mouth are your molars. In most cases, they are removed between the ages of 17 and 25. Some reasons for wisdom teeth extraction Impact: The wisdom teeth have not emerged properly and may be wedged between the gums and the jawbone. The wrong angle may be causing them to press painfully against other teeth. Jaw cannot accommodate a second set of molars because the mouth is too small. Because wisdom teeth are positioned so far back, they are challenging to keep clean with regular brushing and flossing. Cavities or gum disease
